Welcome to the 2020 environmental biosecurity webinar series info hub

In place of the face-to-face Environmental Biosecurity Roundtables in 2020, the Environmental Biosecurity Office developed a monthly webinar series. This site supported the 2020 series as a hub for recorded videos, resources, links, presentations and related discussions. Over 2500 people accessed the content on this page over the course of the series and over 1300 downloaded the content available.

In 2021, the office is hosting a webinar series titled: Knock Knock, Who's there - drawing attention to our most unwanted visitors. To register and join the live streams visit the Eventbrite registration page. To view past content and join this year's discussion, visit our 2021 Environmental Biosecurity Webinar Series info hub.

When were they?

From July to November 2020 the Chief Environmental Biosecurity Officer hosted a webinar in the last week of each month. Each month we explored a different theme, with 3-4 speakers each month discussing their views and involvement in environmental biosecurity.

Why?

Since 2016 the Environmental Biosecurity Roundtables have provided an opportunity for stakeholders to share their projects, research and latest environmental biosecurity news, as well as being a forum for networking and collaboration. With such a vast range of activities in the environmental biosecurity space still happening through the COVID-19 pandemic, it was important to keep these connections and conversations going.

Who?

The webinar series is for anyone who is involved in or shares a professional (or personal) interest in looking after our environment and way of life. This includes, (but is not limited to) the areas of:

  • advocacy
  • animal, plant and wildlife health
  • citizen science
  • conservation and environmental asset management
  • natural resource, pest animal and/or weed management
  • producers and landowners, and
  • research

On the right hand side of this page are the programs and any related resources such as copies of presentations, web links or readings. Keep an eye out for updates to this page before and after each webinar to keep up to date.

Hi JCC - Thanks for joining us! We're sorry you missed it - the good news is that we will be uploading a recording of the webinar in the next couple of days! Unfortunately, we are not able to share Louise's presentation at this stage, however all other talks and discussions will be available as a Viostream link under the 'webinar recordings' widget.

Hi everyone - just a quick note that we’re still working with our IT team to get the recording of the first webinar up on this site for those who couldn't make it or wanted to watch it all again. We hope to have it up by the end of next week.
