Australian in-water cleaning standards

Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Linkedin Email this link

We are developing the Australian in-water cleaning standards. These will improve how biosecurity and chemical contamination risks to the environment are managed.

The draft standards outline minimum requirements for in-water cleaning of vessels in Australian waters.

We, along with other state or territory regulators, will use the standards to assess in-water cleaning activities.

When granting approvals for in-water cleaning operations, regulators may apply extra or more stringent requirements. This helps manage local biosecurity and chemical contamination risks.

You can now provide feedback on the draft standards. We want to understand how they will affect you.

Your feedback will help ensure the new standards effectively manage the risks.
