The National Agricultural Labour Advisory Committee has delivered its National Agricultural Workforce Strategy to Minister Littleproud. The government is considering the strategy and will respond in due course.

The National Agricultural Labour Advisory Committee consulted with a wide range of stakeholders to inform the development of the strategy.

The strategy aims to ensure farmers have access to a fit-for-purpose workforce into the future. It also recommends practical steps for improving the attraction, retention and skill development of the agricultural workforce.

Agricultural workforce development is key to delivering the Ag2030 Plan. The Australian Government supports the agriculture industry’s target of becoming a $100 billion sector by 2030.

The Australian Government released its response to the National Agricultural Workforce Strategy in December 2021.
