We are developing a national soil strategy.

What is a national strategy? A national strategy sets out a roadmap on how the Australian Government, in partnership with state and territory governments and working with other partners, can use policy and actions to achieve common goals for the future of Australia.

What happens next

The department has consulted extensively with stakeholders and has received submissions on its Discussion Paper through a public survey and a series of workshops. This input will inform the development of the National Soil Strategy. During the drafting phase of the strategy these consultations will continue in a more targeted manner as required. The strategy is due to be finalised by June 2021.
