We are developing the National Soil Strategy.

What is a national strategy? A national strategy sets out a roadmap for how the Australian Government, in partnership with state and territory governments and working with other partners, can use policy and actions to achieve common goals for the future of Australia.

Stages of development

We sought your views through an initial public survey that closed on 25 September 2020.

You can read our consultation report. It outlines feedback received throughout the initial consultation phase. This is provided for background context. It is not required reading for the survey.

Since then, the Australian Government, and state and territory governments have been drafting the National Soil Strategy.

We are now presenting a draft National Soil Strategy to gain insights, build agreement, and provide direction to progress the strategy.

The finalised strategy will be delivered as part of the 2021-22 budget in early May this year.

You can now provide feedback on the draft National Soil Strategy.

We ask you to complete a short survey. Your responses will help inform the development of the final strategy.

To have your say:

The survey will take about 15 minutes of your time. We appreciate every minute; we know you are busy.

Submit your feedback by 27 January 2021.

What happens next

We will use the results of this survey to progress the National Soil Strategy. It will then go through a complete design and edit process before its release.

Data collected will be used only to update the draft strategy.
