Public consultation on the domestic organics regulation impact statement is closed.
How you had your say
We sought feedback from people and businesses across the organics sector on regulatory and non-regulatory options to reform Australia’s domestic organics framework.
This included:
Producers
Certifiers
Consumers
Exporters
Manufacturers
Wholesalers
Industry bodies
Governments and more.
Who engaged
We received 72 responses through our survey.
This is part of a broader process of consultation to consider Australia's domestic organics framework which included:
over 100 submissions to an online business survey, used to gather industry insights on the organics sector
over 500 responses to a targeted phone survey, used to gauge the number and nature of organic operators in Australia (including uncertified and smaller producers)
over 1000 responses to the online consumer survey, used to collate existing consumer perspectives on organics, alongside their appetite towards changes to the framework
and over 100 businesses invited to industry roundtables, with 6 industry roundtables completed, and multiple 1:1 meetings.
What happens next
We will review and consider your feedback. We will use it to inform policy advice to be provided to government.
