The Water Efficiency Program provides funding of $1.5 billion:
for eligible water rights holders in the Murray-Darling Basin
transfer water to the Commonwealth under a contract to do efficiency works to achieve water savings.
We work with Basin states and other stakeholders to consider each project proposal.
Review of project proposals
Each proposed project is subject to a period of public comment.
We will consider your feedback when we decide if proposals will be included on our register of potential Water Efficiency Program projects.
