We are conducting an animal biosecurity risk review for psittacine birds.

We have now released a draft report. It identifies biosecurity risks associated with importing psittacine birds as household pets or into aviaries and proposes conditions under which imports may be allowed to manage these risks.

You can now provide comments on the risk assessments and the proposed certification contained in the report.

Submit your comments by 19 September 2020.

To make a submission, read the draft report:

Submit your feedback via our online form, or by post or email.

We will consider all comments before preparing the final report.
