Public consultation on this topic has closed.
We have reviewed the risk species lists for non-salmonid marine finfish for human consumption and baitfish and proposed some changes. The current lists can be found on the department’s Biosecurity Import Conditions database (BICON).
The review was done to ensure the risk species lists are up to date and are effective at managing biosecurity risks and promoting safe trade.
We sought your feedback on the review procedure and the proposed changes as described in Animal Biosecurity Advice 2020/A07. We will now carefully consider all submissions in preparing the final update to the risk species lists. Once the update is finalised the lists in BICON will be updated.
